We provide a fair-use printer on both floors. We ask you not to take advantage of this service and to use it responsibly. The printers are financed from tax funds and are available to start-ups and student initiatives as part of our funding programme.

<aside> ♻️ Please make use of the possibility of declaring prints as black/white printouts in the Windows, Linux or macOS print dialogue. This ensures that documents that contain a colour at any point are not counted as a colour print (also applies to many shades of grey). A colour print costs us many times more than a black and white print.

Setting up the printer

<aside> ⚠️ Please ensure that you are connected to eduroam when setting up the printers! WiFi & Ethernet

Windows

<aside> 💡 Unfortunaly, Windows does not find the printers automatically. Therefore, you have to download specific drivers.

1. Download and extract the correct driver
   1. Go to ncbtr.de/printerDriver
   2. Go to the Downloads > Treiber tab
   3. Download the KX Universal PCL / Post Script Driver
      1. Please choose the right driver for your system
      2. If there are multiple, choose the newest one (highest version)
   4. Extract the archive
2. Add the printer
   1. Open the *Printers and Scanner* settings
   2. Click on *add a new printer or scanner*
   3. After a short while a button *My printer is not listed* will appear
   4. A pop-up will open. Select the option *Add a printer using an IP address or hostname*
   5. Continue with the following settings
      1. Device Type: Automatic detection
      2. Hostname or IP address: Enter the IP address of the printer (see above)
      3. Port name: Not relevant
      4. Enable the option: Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use
   6. Wait until the TCP/IP Port detection is finished (may take up to two minutes)
   7. You will be presented with a screen: Additional connection information required. Continue with the Generic Network Card selected.

   8. Wait until the driver detection is finished (may take up to two minutes)
   9. Install the print driver
      1. You are presented with a selection of print drivers
      2. Click on *Have Disk* (*Datenträger*)

      3. Click on *Browse*

      4. Search for the extracted driver folder you have downloaded before
      5. Select the 64bit or 32bit folder based on your operating system
      6. Select the file OEMSETUP.inf
         • Show image
      7. After selecting the correct file, click on “Ok”
      8. Select TA/UTAX as the manufacturer and search for the correct printer model in the list (P-C2655w MFP KX)
         • Show image
   10. Name the printer as you like
   11. Wait until the printer is installed
   12. Select *Do not share this printer*
   13. Done 🎉
